About Gaden House

At the close of Q3 2024, we proudly completed the restoration of Gaden House, Double Bay. This project seamlessly blended heritage preservation with modern functionality. Originally designed by Neville Gruzman in 1968, Gaden House had long awaited the meticulous care it deserved.

Collaborating with architects Lawton Hurley, we undertook a $20 million heavy refurbishment to breathe new life into this iconic structure.

We focused on retaining key architectural elements such as the curved concrete and glass staircase, terrazzo podium, and architectural metal work, while introducing contemporary amenities. This careful balance ensured the building’s historical integrity was preserved for future generations.

The revitalised Gaden House now houses Neil Perry’s ‘Gran Torino’ restaurant and a cocktail bar, adding vibrancy to the Double Bay community. With its strategic location just 500 meters from Edgecliff Station and proximity to local amenities, the building stands as a testament to thoughtful restoration and urban rejuvenation.

This project exemplifies our commitment to honouring Sydney’s architectural heritage while meeting the needs of modern urban life.
